These delicious Chelsea butterscotch candies have been produced by Japanese company Meiji since 1971! Meiji wanted to introduce a high class sweet to Japan that would look like it came from London which is why they decided to produce butterscotch and name it after Chelsea, the famous area in London. Four decades later and Chelsea is popular as ever, and the Swinging Sixties / Flower Power packaging has barely changed! The candy has a lovely smooth, cool and hard texture, which melts slowly on the tongue. This bag contains individually wrapped butterscotch sweets. Even the inner wrappers have vibrant retro design!
Ingredients: Sugar, starch syrup, butter (milk), glucose,
whey powder (milk), vegetable oil, dextrin, caramel syrup, salt,
emulsifier (soybean), caramel colour, seasoning (amino acids). |
