Explore the world of Kawaii crafting and sewing with our friends at Modes4U!
Modes4U is a long running small but passionate business focused on fabric and kawaii crafting! Modes4U started its journey in Hong Kong in 2007 but in 2022 decided to close its doors, however some of the team responsible for ARTBOX.co.uk had been following Modes4U all these years and in the spirit of keeping it alive, decided to move Modes4U to the U.K. which is where you find us now!
Modes4U opened its doors again in the Autumn of 2023 and has since been working to bring our kawaii vision back to the company! We are now working to streamline Modes4U with a focus on sewing and cute crafting, with a focus on the world of kawaii, traditional Japan, retro cuteness, pretty florals and of course, heaps of cute animals! Today we are going to show you a few our cutest Japanese fabrics.
For the kawaii garment sewists out there, we have some lovely 100% cotton fabrics, that are perfect for creating the cute wardrobe of your dreams~ Here we have Tofu Cute’s very own Kiru, wearing a top she recently made from some of our Retro Kitsch animal fabrics~
Kokka is a Japanese based fabric designer who make the cutest of prints, take a look at these adorable Crepe cat and Animal donut fabrics! These are both made of a fabric called Oxford cotton, it’s a stronger thicker cotton that is perfect for bag making, pouches, cushions, placemats and all types of home decoration. It can also be used to make jackets and more structured garments.
We also have fabrics from the Japanese designer company Kiyohara, who have some of the most beautiful pastel designs we’ve seen! Take a look at these stunning kawaii prints, they give us Sweet Lolita vibes! Which one is your favourite?
Kiyohara also makes amazing Japanese kawaii Character designs which include some beloved retro game characters. Here we have fabrics featuring Kirby and Pacman! What would you make out of these?
As well as Retro gaming classics, Kiyohara also bring us into the wonderful world of Sanrio! Featuring all our favourite characters from Hello Kitty to Hangyodon and all in between~
