It's a hard question to answer, and not something immediately obvious. The Dakigurumi FLAN by the iconic AMUSE company is cute, fun, strange and unique, and when we consider all the reasons why, it is clear that the FLAN is a plush with near-universal appeal. In this sometimes cold world, FLAN may be the answer we are all looking for.
The AMUSE Dakigurumi FLAN we have available currently come in four different types (for now!) and one part of what makes them so great is how each one has a unique identity while retaining some uniform cute features. My personal favourite is the Hearty White Bunny, also known as 'fruit salad flan'- they have especially long ears and a cutesy white and pastel coloured heart aesthetic! Other types include the Cloudy Bear, who has a unique pattern, and the Starry Blue Bunny, who has a cute little smirk on his face. (These are better known amongst Team Tofu members by their assigned flavours– 'Raspberry' 'cotton candy' and 'berry delight' respectively).
But despite the differences in the colours and styles, each FLAN is made out of the same soft texture in a design that is perfect for cuddling. Feeling a little glum? Then cuddle your FLAN! Feeling happy? Cuddle your FLAN! Feeling lonely? Cuddle the FLAN. You get the idea, I'm sure – FLANS are the ideal cuddle partners. They also make exceptionally good seat warmers, accessories, and look awesome when hanging around on a sofa or a bed. |

From a purely objective standpoint, FLANs have a remarkable construction quality that you would certainly expect from the AMUSE company. Their limbs are floppy (which makes the aforementioned cuddling easier) and the mixture of colours pop with vibrance and style. These critters are well put together, and the subtle variations in the individual designs, such as the differences in facial expression and ear shape go a long way to make every single dakigurumi FLANs feel unique. They are also very long (you could even say that they are tall) and have a nice weight and feel.
If you've never purchased a plush from AMUSE before, or are just looking for a bigger plushie to add to your pile, the dakigurumi flan is certainly a good place to start, as it encompasses all the best qualities of any of most AMUSE products, whilst also being a messenger peace and love, showcased by the statements emblazoned on their torso – 'Love Me!' or 'Hug Me!' – both valuable sentiments that I'm sure that we can all support. If you need help relaxing, then FLANs can help inspire you to chill out every day with their vacant expressions and general vibe.
If I had to rate FLANs, especially against other plushies available, they certainly set the gold standard.
