Boars are a truly unique animal. Just looking at one would probably give you the same impression. But are they cute? I definitely didn't think boars could be considered cute, until AMUSE changed my mind with their brand new Chibikko Uribon Baby Wild Boar series, which might be one of my favourite AMUSE series ever.
If you think about what you want from an AMUSE series, and what you might usually expect from it, then this set definitely has all of that & more:
- A unique animal character!
- Made to be more cute to than it actually is!
- Available in a variety of distinct styles & colours!
- Available in a range of sizes!
But the choice of the boar as the subject of a new amuse series is definitely unexpected to say the least - who would think a boar would make a cute plush series?

The best thing about the Chibikko Uribon Baby Wild Boar series is the commitment to detail.
Like a real wild boar, they have distinct stripy markings on their bodies, cute pink ears and a large snout. Although one of the key points of an AMUSE plush is to 'make it more cute' than it actually is, the series still retains a lot of 'boar' features in this way.
Both types of the Chibikko Uribon Wild Boar Series (currently available in both small plush & keychain size) have a unique texture on their stripes, which is a bit more dense than the rest of their fur, which is soft and fluffy. There's something really nice about this mix of textures.
In addition, the four colours of the boar feel really unique. There's a 'yellow girly boar' who has a cute flower accessory on her head and long eyelashes, which is really cute. The light brown boar has a toothy grin which is especially adorable, but even without these quirks the boars are designed in a way that is clearly unique. They're great.
Even if you don't like boars in general, you might enjoy this series - they're super charming and very quirky. |

They're not the only new plush that has hit the scene this week - there's another new series that I absolutely adore. It's the Moff Moff ('Mofu mofu' is a japanese onomatopeia for something soft and fluffy) Bichon Keychain Series - a brand new set of AMUSE pups that look like Bichon Frise dogs.
I have to be honest - I don't know much about Bichon Frise dogs. Labradoodles and Shiba Inus are more my area of expertise. Because of this gap in my dog knowledge, I couldn't really tell if these plush were accurate or not, but after extensive research, I can confirm that this is about as accurate as you would get for an AMUSE plush.
They're very soft and fluffy, and they've got a lot of personality. Each Bichon has a huge ball of fur on their head that adds to their height and feels great to the touch. They're softer and lighter than your usual AMUSE keychains.

There's four unique types of these Bichon Dogs, each with wildly different personalities. There's the happy white bichon with a shiny blue bowtie, the grumpy white bichon who has very angry eyes, and the blonde and toffee brown bichons who look very content - the blonde one also wears a pink bow hair accessory. If you like fluffy dogs, this is the set for you!
But between the boars and the bichons... which one is better? With the choice between these two strong sets, which should you get? It's time to consult an expert.
Quentin: Good afternoon, it's me Quentin, a plush expert.
Adam: Hi Quentin, it's good to see you on the blog again. What are your thoughts on these two new plush series? What's better, Bichons or Boars?
Quentin: From my point of view, the Bichons are better because they're a lot softer and fluffier, but then I've never had many friends who were boars.
Adam: Have you had friends who were bichons?
Quentin: No. Most of my friends are sloths.
Adam: That seems like a very loose reason to prefer the bichons, then.
Quentin: Yeah! Maybe.
Adam: Thanks Quentin. Well, you heard it here first, folks.
