Your new favourite soda!
Tomomasu Soda!
I’d been told a while ago that we were getting some cool looking drinks in at Tofu Cute, but I didn’t realise quite how cool they would look until they actually arrived. These brand new Tomomasu Sodas each arrive in exquisitely colourful and aesthetically pleasing bottles to stylishly display the fruit flavoured soda within. With 5 unique flavours to choose from, you might be wondering, which of these cool looking sodas are worth drinking? Are they as tasty as their bottles are stylish? Which one is the best? As always, I’m here to answer all of your pressing questions about Tomomasu Soda.
Watermelon!
I started my taste test journey with the watermelon flavour. I’m a huge fan of both real watermelon and artificial watermelon flavours, so I had high hopes for this one from the get go. I had it chilled for several hours before drinking for the optimum experience. Interestingly, all of these drinks are completely clear in colour, without any artificial colourings, but don’t let looks deceive you - they’re packed full of fruit flavour!

This particular bottle is so bold in its green watermelon exterior that you can’t help but respect it. Thankfully it’s not just talk, as this soda also packs a pretty bold flavour. There’s a nice sour tang to this drink which helps compliment its bubbly carbonation. It’s a vibrant taste, but perhaps closer to a watermelon candy than watermelon itself. With that being said it’s a flavour that suits this type of drink, and would work as a great mixer in a watermelon themed cocktail. If you’re looking for a refreshing beverage, you could do a lot worse than this!
Melon!
The second drink I tried was the melon flavour, as I assumed it might be similar to the watermelon flavour. I was thankful to be proven wrong, as this drink completely has an identity of its own. It seems to be based on ‘honeydew’ variety melons, and has more of a rich sweetness when compared to the sharper watermelon flavour. It’s a sweet and wholesome taste that does a really good job of delivering a punch of cool and crisp melon flavour.
Mango!
I was pretty enthusiastic about the mango flavour too, as this also ranks highly in my assessment of fruit flavours - mango flavoured things tend to be pretty good, and I’m definitely a mango juice enjoyer. With the Tomomasu Soda version, I certainly got the mango vibes that I was looking for, and although I don’t think it's quite as good as either of the melon flavours, it still provided a good fruity taste that compliments the fizzy mixture. I think this taste was a bit more subtle than the others, but mango in abundance can be a bit too intense, so I understand.
White Peach!
Speaking of subtle flavours, the ‘white peach’ Tomomasu Soda is a flavour that I would describe as ‘relaxing’. It’s quite impressive how well this particular bottle manages to capture the essence of peach, perhaps more effectively than any other peach drink I’ve happened to have before. Seriously! It was uncanny how much this one tasted like drinking a tall glass of peach juice that had been lovingly added to a fizzy soda.
Pineapple!
The final flavour of this particular taste test, pineapple, also happens to be my least favourite, but that isn’t to suggest it's bad. It’s more to do with the fact that pineapple does very little for me as a flavour usually, but I was in fact pleasantly surprised by this one. If you were to imagine a pineapple flavoured sparkling soda before drinking this, I think your expectations will probably match this one. It’s pretty good, even as someone who doesn't much care for pineapple!
All in all, I think the Tomomasu Sodas are quite a hit. If I had to rank them, I’d put watermelon first, Mango second, and the rest in third place. But what do you think of them? Customers within the UK can get them from our online shop, and they’re well worth holding on to for displaying the awesome fruit bottles. If you’ve enjoyed past flavours of ramune that we’ve stocked, you can’t go too wrong here. If you’re looking for a new unique beverage to stock in your fridge for the upcoming summer, you may have just stumbled upon your next favourite drink!
