Tofu Cute at Hyper Japan
This year at HYPER JAPAN at London Olympia, Tofu Cute had one of it’s best convention appearances ever, bringing more Japanese goodies than ever before alongside the debut of a brand new ‘Matsuri’ Game area, which added a whole new dimension of fun!

We had an awesome time - here's some of the fun things we got to experience!
Japanese Snacks Galore!
As always, we aimed to provide a huge selection of Japanese snacks and drinks of all different kinds, including a range of recently released items like the iconic ‘Long man’ Sakeru Gummy (and the classic ‘short boy’ bagged version) and the sublime new ‘double-layered’ Pocky W flavours. These newcomers stood their ground against classic snacks such as Kinoko No Yama and our many varieties of Puccho!

It was also a very warm weekend (by England’s standards for warm weather) and that meant that our delicious Japanese drinks were a popular commodity in order to bear the heat of London Olympia’s main hall – Watermelon Ramune made a much-anticipated return to the shelves of our pop-up shop, alongside other classic Ramune flavours like Melon, Blueberry & Yuzu citrus, which are all still available to buy online for delivery in the UK, if you’re still feeling the heat! Other drinks such as Pocari Sweat, Pokémon Ocean Bomb soda cans and more were also popular items that provided some much needed refreshment.

Our snacks area was constantly busy at HYPER JAPAN, so we can’t thank you enough for your support! Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram (@tofucute) in your snack hauls from HYPER JAPAN – if you haven’t devoured them already, of course!
AMUSE, Squishies, Gatcha & More!
HYPER JAPAN also saw the return of our popular AMUSE section, where you could adopt cute plushies in a range of sizes and styles from tiny miniature plush charms to bigger giant sized plush critters.

The Friday of Hyper Japan was known amongst the AMUSE team as ‘Flan Friday’, which invited attendees of HYPER JAPAN for the very first time to adopt one of the iconic dakigurumi FLANS by AMUSE, which were making a return after a long time of being discontinued, arriving in some exciting new flavours such as ‘berry delight’ flan and ‘cotton candy’ flan – these plushies proved popular throughout the whole weekend! We're currently selling a limited number of FLANS on our online store, but if you were one of the lucky few who managed to grab one first at HYPER JAPAN, welcome to the Flanclub!~

This HYPER JAPAN also featured plenty of squishies, including Tofu Cute’s very own squishy series of Animal Doughnuts and Kawaii Poops (including the ‘elusive’ golden poop). We’re happy to see the continued love for our Tofu Cute squishies, and we’re interested to hear what you think of them now they’ve been available for a while – which ones are your favourites? How could they be better? Feel free to let us know!

We were also offering a range of Japanese gacha capsules or sale at our Tofu Cute booth which was very popular among a wide variety of people. We’re looking into to providing even more gachapon capsules with authentic ‘gacha’ experiences in the future, so watch this space!
Matsuri Masters
If you visited our kawaii pop-up shop area, you would have had the chance to take part in one or all of our brand new Matsuri games! By exchanging a small fee for some ‘Tofukens’ (Tofu Tokens!), you could attempt several games including Catch A Gatcha, Senbonbiki Snacks and Ramune Ring Toss – with a prize guaranteed every time!

Catch A Gatcha involved scooping up small gacha capsules in a sea of ‘decoy’ balls – it wasn’t always easy, but the rewards were super cute, including adorable Summikko Gurashi miniature plushies and miniature Rilakkuma cups. Some of these cute gacha prizes could also be purchased separately from our gachapon area, but some were exclusive prizes that could only be won in the matsuri area! Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

Ramune Ring Toss also proved to be an exciting skill-based game that was harder than it looked; a deceptively simple and addictive challenge based on the classic carnival game that everybody knows and loves, where getting a ring to land on a bottle of ramune claims it as your prize. Victory has never tasted sweeter.
Senbonbiki Snacks on the other hand, was a game of pure chance, where a play could net you a variety of delicious Japanese snacks. With fate in control, many lucky winners went home with cute snacks that they were excited to eat. Did you win anything delicious?

We had some impressive participants in all three games, with many people winning more than they thought they might be capable of! The matsuri area was a lot of fun to test, set up and experience with the HYPER JAPAN attendees – we’re definitely going to be looking into ways to bring similar experience to our future conventions, so stay tuned to our social media and our website for future announcements (and if you have any suggestions for fun things you’d like to see at Tofu Cute pop-up shops, let us know!).
Best Wishes!
Also in the Matsuri Area was our wishing wall, which received a huge amount of support! Attendees were invited to write down a 'wish' and place it on our wishing wall for good luck.

These wishes ranged from 'I wish for snacks' to far more ambitious goals such as 'world peace'. We can only hope that all your kind wishes came true! Hopefully that person got the snacks they wanted.
