Tofu Cute Goes To MCM London 2018

This year, we had another amazing time at London MCM Comic-Con, meeting hundreds of brilliant Tofu Cuties and introducing new people to our kawaii shop! This year, we aimed to bring you the biggest and best pop-up shop experience ever, with a massive range of all of your favourite Japanese snacks, drinks, squishies, stationery, AMUSE plushies and much more, including an exciting selection of Tofu Cute original merchandise and an even more exciting raffle of a Super Jumbo Mameshiba!~
Snacks! Snacks! Snacks!
If there’s one thing we know you all love, it’s Japanese snacks. This year at MCM, we brought an awesome range of Japanese Snacks including old favourites like Pocky and Ramune and new snacks that made their exclusive debut to the event such as Watermelon Hi-Chew and Rilakkuma Cider Candy.

Our snacks section as usual was incredibly popular with MCM attendees and Tofu Cute fans alike, with huge crowds ready to buy snacks on all three days. We had a mountain of your favourite snacks like Hello Panda, Pocky, Yan Yan and more ready to re-stock, and over the course of the weekend, this mountain went from very tall to nearly empty – the love for the snacks was incredible! Thanks!
AMUSE lovers!
On our online shop this month we’ve had a celebration of all things AMUSE, so we decided to make the grand finale at MCM comic-con truly grand by giving away a huge SUPER JUMBO Mameshiba plush! People who visited the AMUSE section of our pop-up-shop were invited to enter the raffle for the possibility of winning this huge, adorable shiba plush as well as a few other AMUSE prizes.

The winner was drawn and announced on our social media at the end of Sunday at MCM – congratulations to our winner Caiti Pyne! Whilst the winner of the Super Jumbo has already claimed their prize (it’s on its way!), there are two prizes that haven’t been claimed yet – an AMUSE Lucky Bag and a Giant Pantastic plush. If you entered our raffle and you’re reading this, be sure to check your email and our Facebook or Instagram just in case you’re one of our missing winners!
Testing Your Luck!
Returning from its debut appearance at HYPER JAPAN, this year at MCM we also had an expanded Gachapon section, where you could go to get your hands on a range of super cute miniatures, charms & trinkets of all different kinds! We aimed to deliver the authentic gachapon experience, with a selection of 'blindbox' toys in capsules that are normally only available from iconic Japanese capsule machines that dispense them at random. We had plenty of cute 'gachapon' toys available in a variety of themes such as Gudetama, Sailor Moon, Sumikko Gurashi and more. People really enjoyed trying their luck and pulling out a capsule at random to see what cute toy they would get in a specific series. This area also introduced the Tofu Gatcha Grab Bag, which made for an even more authentic 'gacha' experience by letting you get 5 completely random gatcha capsules for one great value price - these were super popular throughout the weekend - would you like to see them make it to our online shop?

Speaking of luck, our famous lucky bags were also available at our pop-up shop, with every variety on offer, including the newer £5 lucky bags that were available as add-on items, and the super popular Ultimate Tofu Bags which contains a fun mix of things from every part of our growing range of items. Ordinary bags like AMUSE Lucky bag and Snacks Bag were also hugely popular - our Lucky Bag team had a great time serving you all! What did you get in your lucky bag?~
...and more!
That isn't all we had at Tofu Cute, of course! As always, we had a range of our original squishies, stationery and other cute things available. If you're a pin badge, squishy or stationery or any other sort of enthusiast who got introduced to Tofu Cute by seeing us at MCM over the weekend, welcome! We hope you'll continue to follow us.

A particularly popular item over the weekend was the limited edition series of Yeastken plushies, which has shown to be very popular on all of our social media. We brought only a few of the bigger Yeastken mochi giant plushies and they had sold out by early Saturday afternoon - if you didn't manage to get one at MCM, we still have a few left available on our online shop - don't miss out! We also sold out of the stock we brought of the smaller yeastken plushies, but we still have some of those online too!
How was your MCM experience?
We always have a great time at MCM London comic-con meeting all of you - it's routinely one of our biggest and most lively events. Did you come to Tofu Cute pop-up shop? What did you like most about it? Did you pick up anything cute? Let us know on our Facebook, Instagram & Twitter!
