Last week on our social media, we asked you to design a new Ice Cream flavour for Quentin, for the chance to win your very own Namakemono Sloth Small Plush with a Squishy Ice Cream! We were looking for creativity, originality and most importantly something that Quentin the sloth would find delicious. Thankfully, Quentin is a sloth of diverse taste, and was very impressed by all of the different flavours submitted!
Quentin: There really is a lot of incredible flavours to choose from! Thank you all for your entries! It was tough to narrow it down to a Top 5, but I think I've done it!
The 1st place winner will get their very own sloth small plush with an ice cream squishy - we've contacted this winner already!

Our 5th Place entry comes from @amyisasillybat on Instagram, who gives us this interesting play on words:
'The Sloth - (S)alted Caramel, (L)atte, (O)reo, (T)offee, (H)oneycomb.'
Quentin: This sounds like a fantastic mix of flavours! I like this entry because it's simple but very effective - you've taken the letters of 'SLOTH' and used each one to inspire the next flavour. How delightful! It's sort of like a puzzle, in a way - I can imagine this ice cream being served with some form of secrecy around it, with people who ask for it not being told what it contains, only knowing that's it's called The SLOTH, and slowly figuring it out as they go along. Imagine how fun that would be!

Our 4th place entry comes from Hazel Prosser on Facebook, who gave us this delightful treat:
'Boysenberry, Loganberry and Marshallow with tutti-frutti pieces. A real Summer treat and a way to highlight fruits seldom heard about!'
Quentin: This is very unique indeed! I like the use of fruits that other people wouldn't have thought about using, and marshmallows would add a delicious, soft and chewy texture! That mixed with the unique fruit mix sounds like a winning combination to me! Good work! |

Our 4th Place entry comes from @kirbwe who offers this interesting flavour:
'Sloffee Coffee' flavour, a vanilla base with coffee infusions! Espresso powder, brewed coffee and coffee beans as a topping to give you energy when you're feeling slow as a sloth!'
Quentin: Wow! I really like coffee, so I'm glad you suggested this vanilla and coffee infusion flavour! As you said, something like this would give me the energy I need as a busy sloth - I can finally stop eating coffee beat and eat this delicious 'Sloffee Coffee' ice cream instead!

Our second place selection comes from Sofie Troth on Facebook:
'The ice cream is called 'Fruit Shoot' and the idea is that it is made from fresh leaves, with little pieces of fresh fruit, with a leaf and leaf stick on the side, and a flower bud on the top to finish. It's all the things that sloths love! So I tailored it to him!'
Quentin: This second place entry gained a lot of extra points for the drawing that came with it - I think it's very visually impressive, and well designed in a way that incorporates lots of things that sloths love! It looks really delicious!

Our first place winner is an early entry that really knocked it out of the park with this stellar suggestion - it comes from Paige on Facebook, who said:
'Hibiscus and vanilla. The Hibinilla. Quentin would like it because sloths love hibiscus flowers as a treat, and also vanilla is a great ingredient in cakes, cookies etc. There is already a vanilla ice cream, a well known, versatile flavour, but the Hibinilla would have an extra ingredient in it that sloths love. The tartness of hibiscus and smoothness of the vanilla makes the Hibinilla a wonderful combination of ice cream that this sloth would love.'
Quentin: This entry gets our number one spot and wins the prize because of the detail & effort that's been put into it!~ The writer of this entry clearly did some research on sloth diets, and also described it in a way that sounds absolutely delicious! I also like that this Ice Cream seems very simple too, with a nice name to match. Fantastic work all-around - I look forward to trying to make my own 'Hibinilla' Ice Cream in the future! |
