Mameshiba Yurusaurus Review!
Mameshiba Yurusaurus Review!

Hear them Roar.
I don’t think you need me to tell you that these brand new AMUSE Mameshiba Brothers Yurusaurus series plush are absolutely fantastic. But just in case you did need some affirmation on how wonderful this new version of the iconic Mameshiba characters are, here’s my own personal review of this fabulous new range of plush.

The first thing you’ll notice about these Mameshiba Brothers Yurusauruses(?) is that they’re posed very differently to your standard Mameshiba. Unlike most of the sets from this particular series, they’re not standing up on all fours, but rather sitting down with their arms open wide, like a classic teddy bear. It’s fitting to this series, which has the entire Mameshiba crew wearing dinosaur style onesies. This new pose makes it look like they’re practicing for their new role as dinosaurs (or Yurusaurs, I guess?) by giving an enthusiastic roar. It’s very cute.
There’s four unique versions of the plush, available in three sizes - keychain, JB (medium) and giant size. For maximum cuteness, we obviously recommend the giant size, but they’re all pretty cute, and I can personally attest to how great the keychain version is - because it’s a lot smaller than the other versions, their heads are a lot more tucked behind their raised arms.

They have a particularly unique style in comparison to many other Mameshiba plush series, in part due to the colour palette they’ve gone for, which utilises greens and blues for the dinosaur skin. My personal favourite plush from the series is the Charcoal Grey with the Blue Onesie. I’m a big fan of Jiro the Charcoal Grey Mameshiba generally, but I’m especially a fan of this because of the contrasting colours - pastel blue goes really well with the charcoal fur, and really makes this plush stand out. The roaring faces of the onesie hoods are another contrasting element, juxtaposing with the calm expressions of the dogs themselves. It’s a really good concept for a series that is executed just as well! There's a lot of attention to detail, from the teeth and spikes on the onesie to the way the ears poke out on the light blonde version!
If you’re in the market for a cute new plush, I highly recommend these ‘Yurusaurus’ Mameshibas. As is standard with AMUSE, they have the quality construction and softness that you’ve come to expect, but with this added gimmick that any discerning fan of dinosaurs or Mameshiba is likely going to love! It gets a solid 9/10 from me.
