Halloween Spooky Mascot Design Competiton - Winners!

A couple of weeks ago, we invited you to design your very own Halloween version of our cute mascot characters Hammy & Alpaca-chan - we gave you templates, and you astonished us with your incredible designs!

Out of all the incredible mascots we've received, we've narrowed it down and chosen a Top 5 from both the spooky Hamsters & spooky Alpacas. The 1st place of both categories will receive our Halloween Treat bundle, which contains a wide selection of delicious snacks and a cute Halloween Loppy! 5th, 4th, 3rd & 2nd place will also receive some Tomodachi points - if your entry is on this list then we'll be in contact soon!

Without further ado, let's begin with the countdown, starting with the 5th place entry for both!
5th Place
Our 5th Place Hamster is a really well illustrated piece - Jinx by Dominika Merik is relally well designed, with a nice orange & black colour scheme that compliments itself really well. It's turned the hamster in a completely different creature - we really like the wings and fluffy ears.

Our 5th Place Alpaca is a simple concept that's been done really effectively - Citronette by kiyu_nami on Instagram has created what I can only describe as a lemon-themed Alpaca witch, complete with a lemon broach and lemon accessory on their witch hat! It's really neat.
4th Place
Our 4th place Alpaca, Nightweb by N. Yume, blends a variety of classic halloween iconography together into one very spooky design - bats, spiders, webs, pumpkins and the concept of the night - it's all there!

Our 4th Place Hamster, Gramm the reaper by Amber Nicole uses a classic 'grim reaper' design and blends it beautifully with the hamster template, giving us this devious looking hammy with a really nice colour palette.
3rd Place
Our 3rd Place Hamster, Nessy Ham by Cynthia Kitty surprised us with a really original concept. We love the idea of a lochness monster Hamster, and it's definitely very spooky!

Our 3rd Place Alpaca, Demapaca by Gemma Moore turns the Alpaca into this monster from the Netflix hit Stranger Things, in what was easily the most detailed and colourful hand-drawn entry we've received.
2nd Place
Our 2nd Place Alpaca really went the extra mile in terms of colour and detail - Pochi by Justyna Kwiatkowska is a rather unique creation that gives off a really spooky vibe - well done!

Our 2nd Place Hamster also went above and beyond - Kyary Hamyu Hamyu by Adele Pool recreates the creepy-cute look of the famous J-Pop star in hamster form, and they even created a small plush version in the physical world - wow!
1st Place
We decided the winners of the competition based on all of the criteria - we were looking for an original concept, with a good execution, with a spooky but cute theming. Our two first place entries excelled in all of these areas, and while some of the other entries may have been better at specific parts, these two really shone with how they approached the competition.

Our 1st Place Hamster is none other than Lord Pocky by Nick Räder gives us a really simple design that is beautifully coloured, beautifully drawn and unifies the theme of the 'spooky' with our cute hamster really well. We love the addition of the pocky trident, and we think this hamster is really fantastic!

Our 1st Place Alpaca is none other than Alpacazam! by Isolde Roberts. This magnificent entry went all the day with the theme of a wizard alpaca, including an incredibly detailed background and a really devious expression on the alpaca's face. It's amazing!

These two first place entries will both be receiving a halloween treat bundle, and anyone else on the runner up list will be receiving some tomodachi points!
Thank you to everyone who entered our competition! We had lots of really amazing designs, and we're sad that we can't show them all off here on our website, but if you want to see all the other entries, please feel free to checkout our album on our Facebook page which collects all the entries we've had.

If you enjoyed the competition, please let us know! We'd love to do even more art competitions in the future just like this, so make sure to let us know what you thought of this one!
